Jenene Mathews

My name is Jenene Mathews, Executive Assistant to the Board of Directors here at CVIS. I grew up in Eastern WA, and then moved to the Seattle area with my family when I was 17. I had the privilege of moving back “home” in 2007. My husband, Eric Mathews, is a long time resident of Chelan and provided locksmith services to the valley until October 2010 when he took an out of town position in Post Falls, ID. where he commutes each week. We were married in May of 2009 which is when I moved to Chelan. Together we have six grown children, and one 17 year old. Additionally, we have four beautiful grandchildren.

Aside from volunteer work with children in public school classrooms, and families through Children’s Home Society of Washington, I was the owner and director of The Family Place in Maple Valley, WA. The Family Place was a private, accredited Pre-K school. We offered professional child care services as well. Our educational philosophy was a very close match to that of CVIS, including the vitality of direct parental involvement. This was a very successful operation for 23 years until my return to this beautiful area.

Upon relocation, I secured a position with The Wenatchee World in the advertising department. I entered this profession with no prior knowledge of the newspaper industry, nor advertising and marketing experience or knowledge. Regardless, I received a promotion six months into my employment, and received several awards of excellence thereafter. I expanded my sales territory and dramatically increased revenue within the first 3 months.

I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to weave my experience and successes in education, business, advertising and marketing into my position here at CVIS. It is my goal to work as a team with parents, faculty, and the board to create the very best results possible for the school, and most importantly, the children. There is nothing more important and rewarding than supporting children in their overall growth and development to become strong, capable, and successful adults. When parents and schools work together, children reap the positive benefits. I look forward to working with your family toward this end!
